Celebrate Your Growth

Processed with VSCO with a5 preset

It is hard to believe that we are already at the end of 2020, what a crazy year it has been! Never did I or any of us at the beginning of this year even imagine that we would be faced with a global pandemic and that life would alter so dramatically for every one of us around the world.

Although, upon reflection, there has been a huge amount of apprehension, worry, stress, anxiety and grief surrounding this year - we should also take time to think about the many moments of laughter, self growth and achievements we have made, no matter how big or small.

I always find it helpful to do a gratitude and self reflection end of year journal entry. Half of the strength with a task like this is being open and honest with yourself, especially if you’re usually the kind of person that shies away from the truth or tends to sweep things under the carpet. But, in doing an exercise like this - the aim isn’t to highlight failures or make or hold judgements against yourself, instead it's to see what you have achieved and to celebrate these accomplishments and to identify where you feel you have space to improve and grow. And I just want to note that not every celebration will look “normal” to you, maybe a celebration and an achievement this year was sitting with your sadness over something, or allowing yourself time to cry.

If the journal self reflection task or gratitude list isn't for you, you could try creating a vision board for the present and for the future. Visualisation is one of the most powerful mind experiences you can have. If you have ever read The Secret, you will completely resonate with this quote “The law of attraction is forming your entire life experience and it is doing that through your thoughts. When you are visualizing, you are emitting a powerful frequency out into the Universe”.

So, take some time for yourself and spend a few hours getting creative to really visualise what you want in life that will make you happy.
